Zeal: Zeal with its "zealots" is a nonprofit branch of LookSmart (a pay-to-submit engine). "Wisenut" is an important search engine for both Zeal and LookSmart (but submission to Wisenut is via Zeal). So for noncommercial sites, Zeal is a cost-free way to get into the system. However, it is not easy and without anxiety. It requires registering first, then finding an appropriate category etc. You must go down the hierarchies until a "base category" is found for your site. Then your site may later be placed higher in the system. We assume it is worth it to make ones way through the confusing maze.
